Liverpool are increasingly satisfied with Ronald Araujo’s performances and have begun seriously considering whether to sign the Barcelona defender permanently, reports Mundo Deportivo. The 27-year-old is currently on loan at Anfield until the end of the season, with Liverpool holding a purchase option worth €55 million.

Araujo’s resurgence in England has strengthened the case for a permanent move, with his recent performances earning widespread praise. The Uruguayan has rediscovered his confidence since leaving Barcelona last summer, and Liverpool are now weighing up whether to make his stay permanent.

Araujo’s display against Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend Sunday offered another indication of the qualities he has brought to Liverpool’s defence. The centre-back recorded an official top speed of 36.3 km/h, completed 13 sprints and won all five of his direct duels.
