Bayern didn’t just win this one; it completely overwhelmed its opponent from beginning to end. The Bavarians finished with 63% possession, outshooting Magdeburg 19-9 while putting eight attempts on target compared to just two for the hosts.
The expected goals numbers were particularly eye-catching, with Bayern registering an enormous 3.98 xG against Magdeburg’s 0.86. That is a massive difference in attacking quality and the opportunities created.
