From the source
Entering this season, Samuel Chukwueze was not expected to be a huge player for AC Milan, but he was until his hip injury. After an alright loan spell with Fulham, most expected Chukwueze to be sold in the summer.
The Whites hadn’t taken up their buy option and the Nigerian hadn’t impressed enough to be seen as a guaranteed return. Nevertheless, Ruben Amorim saw things differently, believing he could play a role.
Of course, he’s not the only player who he offered an opportunity to, but he may be the best example of things changing. The Nigerian was pivotal to Amorim’s system, being the starting wing-back on the right for most of the early season.
