From the source
Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Alex Baena and could be prepared to make a significant financial commitment to bring the Atletico Madrid midfielder to the Emirates.
The Gunners view him as a player who could improve their squad and make an important contribution to Mikel Arteta’s team. Baena has established himself as an important player at Atletico Madrid, making a potential transfer difficult to complete.
The Spanish club are unlikely to welcome the departure of a player they value, particularly with the January transfer window approaching and limited time to find a suitable replacement.
